The short version: CycleWingman does not collect your data. Everything you enter stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. The optional feedback form and the store pages you can open from Settings are covered below.
What data the app works with
CycleWingman lets you enter information about a partner's menstrual cycle to generate lifestyle forecasts: a partner's first name (or any label you choose), an icon or emoji and a colour, cycle start dates, average cycle length, and contraception type. You can also keep day notes (a mood, a few tags and an optional line of text), save plans for particular days, and set preferences such as the app's language, the first day of the week, notifications and the app lock. The app also remembers whether Wingman+ is active.
You enter this information voluntarily. Before adding a partner, the app asks you to confirm that your partner is aware of and comfortable with you keeping this information.
Where the data lives
- On your phone or tablet — on iPhone, iPad and Android, all data is stored locally on your device, inside the app's private storage.
- On your Apple Watch — if you use the watch app, the same data is transferred directly from your iPhone to your paired watch using Apple's device-to-device WatchConnectivity channel, and is stored locally on the watch. A note you write on the watch travels back to your iPhone the same way. It does not pass through our servers — we do not have servers.
- In widgets — home-screen and lock-screen widgets and watch complications read a copy of the forecast that the app keeps in its own private storage on the same device. They show whatever you choose to put on your screen.
- In notifications — daily heads-ups are off by default. If you turn them on, they are scheduled by your device's operating system on the device itself; no server sends them, and they never contain your partner's name.
- In a backup file — only if you export one. Settings → Backup creates a file and lets you choose where to save it; where it goes is up to you, and a cloud drive you save it to handles it under its own terms. Restoring reads a file you pick.
The app lock uses Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint or your device's screen lock through the operating system; the app is told only whether you passed.
We cannot see, access, or recover your data. It never leaves your devices unless you export a backup yourself.
What we do NOT do
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No selling, sharing, or transferring data to anyone.
- No third-party SDKs that receive your data.
Links that open outside the app
Some rows in Settings open a page outside the app: this policy, the Terms of Use, subscription management, CycleWingman's page in the App Store or Google Play, and the feedback form. They open in your browser or in the store app. The app sends nothing along with them — no data, no identifiers — and does not know what you do there.
If you send feedback
Settings → Rate us has a thumbs up and a thumbs down. The thumbs up opens CycleWingman's page in the App Store or Google Play, where you can leave a rating or a review. The thumbs down opens a short feedback form hosted on Google Forms. The app records neither tap.
The form asks how you like the app (1 to 5), what you would change, and which version you use. Every question is optional, the app fills none of them in, and the form does not ask for your name or email address. Please leave your partner's details out of it. Opening the form sends a request, including your IP address, to Google as its host; submitting it sends your answers to Google Forms and to us. We read them to decide what to fix and build next. A rating or review you leave on a store page goes to Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. CycleWingman is not told whether you left one.
Purchases
The Wingman+ subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google through Google Play on Android. Payment happens in the store's own purchase sheet, so we never see your payment details; the app only learns whether a subscription is active. Deleting your data
- In the app: Settings → "Reset onboarding" removes everything the app stores on your phone or tablet — partners, notes, plans and settings — and clears the paired Apple Watch and the widgets.
- Completely: deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. A backup file you exported stays wherever you saved it until you delete it.
- Feedback: the form does not tell us who sent a response, so to have one removed, email us roughly when you sent it and what it said.
Health disclaimer
CycleWingman provides lifestyle estimates based on typical patterns. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and must not be used for contraception or fertility planning.
Children
CycleWingman is made for adults in a relationship and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this page with a new effective date. Because the app has no way to contact you (we don't have your contact details), please check this page occasionally.
